The EU recently introduced legislation relating to the content and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment under the RoHS and WEEE directives. The obligation now lies with the manufacturer and the purchaser of materials to ensure low levels of hazardous substances are present and also preventing unnecessary waste by ensuring as much recycling and reuse as possible. Our elemental analysis techniques are ideal for determining low levels of Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Chrome. The XRF UniQuant service is also invaluable to purchasers of waste materials as this establishes the full elemental content within the material. LSM are also highly experienced in the analysis of Tantalum/Niobium.
